Our Day of Rest… Boston, MA
This past week was a huge stepping stone for OneBillionStories.com, as we were able to spend five days in the Archdiocese of Boston, a historically rich Catholic area of the country. But where are they now in 2012? What is the state of Catholicism in Boston in the 21st century?
Today’s Story
In the coming weeks and months stories will be streaming into this mission from Boston. Despite challenges in the past, it is evident that Christ has not given up on Beantown, not even close. During the days in Boston, Seth would spend his time recording shows for season 2 of ‘One Billion Stories’ on CatholicTV. But in the evenings, it was all story time, in a big way! The footage that you are about to watch in this video is from St Clement’s Eucharistic Shrine in downtown Boston, about a stone’s throw from Fenway. Every week, there is a group that meets there called ‘Pure in Heart.’ Which is a new movement in Boston centered around the Eucharist through Mass and Adoration, but also the study of Christ’s teaching on chastity.
The stories recorded from that evening were amazing. And today’s ‘Our Day of Rest’ video speaks to the mystical nature of our faith through an ancient stone church and adoration in the dim red lights of Boston. Perhaps Pure in Heart could come to your city next? That is the goal, to spread the mission across the United States, learn more at www.pureinheartamerica.org
