WASHINGTON, DC — A young lady from the East coast shares a story centering on a unique struggle. This Catholic story is not a struggle with addiction, depression, or trust, like so many of the other ‘one billion Catholic stories’ that our team has already published for this mission on the ‘digital continent.’
Today’s Story
Rather, this struggle centers around beauty. Pause for a moment now and imagine the inability to have the most beautiful realities of this world move anything in your heart. Imagine walking in to the Cathedral in France that is held up by stained glass so they say, Chartes, and have nothing in your heart stir with amazement at the beauty around you. This is the reality at the beginning of today’s story. Our team has said it once, and we will say it again, ‘beauty will save the world.’ Those simple words carry so much relevance to the cultures of the 21st century. Thankfully, the Catholic Church continues to fight for beauty all around us. Whether the medium is film, music, architecture, or art, the Church knows that God made us both soul and body, which means we are not angels, and therefore can lift our hearts heavenward when an encounter with true beauty happens here on earth.
God willing, these daily Catholic stories will continue toward a beautiful display of art, both in content and presentation through film. With your help and support, our team will continue to produce beautiful pieces of daily film that with the help of God’s grace, will lift your eyes and soul toward the Almighty in heaven. Let us pray this day for the restoration of the arts around the world, for it is through true beauty that people encounter God, and it is our duty as Catholics to make that opportunity available to the world.
