We have arrived in the infamous city of Medellín. Far from the violent drug trafficing stories we had heard, it was a beautiful city and the people were even more pleasant. The most polite and formal Spanish we have heard thus far, and they were very kind and helpful when we needed something. We stayed with a Peruvian family that has been living in Medellín for a while, and went around the city with some of the Sodalits meeting up with people for interviews. At the end of our week there we were invited to appear on the Catholic TV station TeleVida for a segment on their morning show, and we talked for about 15 minutes on the program about the Mission of Onebillionstories and how we have made this trip possible and how we find people to interview. Most of the food in Medellín was alright, but the cheese filled arepas were quite good.
