The Life of a Cistercian Monk in Ireland
Have you ever fallen in love? Many Catholics around the world will fall in love with another, but never consult with God on the decision. The process of discernment is when Catholics take a very important decision and present it at the feet of God for consultation with the Almighty. Today’s story speaks perfectly to the joy one will find by choosing God’s will over our will.
God wants us to be so incredibly happy, that as human beings, we cannot even begin to dream of that everlasting joy without proper discernment. Prayer, lectio divina, the Sacraments, and perhaps a spiritual director, all will help Catholics discern God’s path. ‘Irish Steve’ continues to encounter the true Catholic faith in Ireland. Despite the headlines on CNN, MSNBC, or the New York Times, those media outlets will never share with the world the faithful Catholics in Ireland, so we will! And Steve is on the front lines of that encounter with Catholicism, continuing to record and share the ‘one billion Catholic stories.’
