Knock, Ireland Youth Ministries
These past five weeks have gone by in a flash for ‘Irish Steve!’ Some how, the Holy Spirit, has brought him way up north to Knock, where a very famous and popular Marian Shrine resides. Yesterday, he had the pleasure of sitting down with Helen, the Youth Director at Knock Youth Ministries. After hearing a story like her’s, hope abounds for the future the Catholic faith in Ireland.
During her story, technology enters the conversation with regards to how she goes about leading retreats for the youth of Ireland. I think the question she asks during her retreats for teenagers can now be asked by everyone in the world.
When do you have quiet time in your life?
It is a valid question in this world of iphones, ipads, and kindles that we now find ourselves immersed in around every corner. Perhaps it is time to disconnect for just an hour a day from all these different apps, devices, websites (except OneBillionStories.com ; ) and social networks? Our team thinks Helen makes some great points about lifting back the curtain of technology in our world for a short while to spend time with God.
Today’s Story: Knock, Ireland Youth Ministries
Let our team know what you think about her comments on technology, retreats, and the Mass below in the ‘Comments section.’ Our team would be very grateful also to hear from you, seth@onebillionstories.com , to learn how we could better serve your spiritual needs on this journey of your Catholic Life.
