Letting Go of Human Love for Divine Love
There are a billion Catholics in the world, and we must all ask the big questions of life at one point or another. Perhaps the biggest of all is, ‘what does God want from my life?’ How will my actions serve God during my time on earth? These questions are common among Catholics, and should be shared with children and teenagers at very young ages, but why?
Today’s Story
The secular culture, whether in America, Ireland, or elsewhere, will tell them to turn from God at every chance they get, but why? Because without God, people will begin to depend upon happiness and fulfillment in other areas of this world: materialsim, political power, money, and maybe even solely human love.
That is where today’s story hits a cross road, human love and it’s purpose, or Divine love? We all need love in this world, but we also must place the love of God and His love for us above all other human relationships. For without the proper order of love, distortion and confusion begins to enter the hearts of people, which can lead them astray from their big-V Vocation. May we all garner the strength and wisdom as this story shows to say yes to Divine Love when it comes knocking on the windows of our soul.
