Paradox, Breaking It Down
What an honor it is for OneBillionStories.com to publish a piece of Paradox’s story, and his music! Watch the story to the end and you will see what we are talking about, this man has hip hop talent like you wouldn’t believe.
Today’s Story
Born in Texas, raised in Colorado, Paradox (Matt) has quite the story, beginning right in Middle School in fact. Let’s just say he is blessed to have made it to his freshmen year in high school thanks to some kind teachers. Although the video does not go in to all the details of Matt’s life, you will pick up very quickly that this Catholic Hip Hop artist has a fresh perspective on the world, but that did not come about over night. In fact, it took a year of service with the Jesuit Volunteer Corp down in Belize before Matt began to understand what it meant to live out one’s Catholic faith with intention and purpose. To help himself get over that spiritual hurdle, he hauled an 8 track recorder in his suit case down to Belize, on which he recorded many songs, but more importantly many reflections on those big questions in life.
Think of his 8 track recorder as an electronic, hip hop, too cool for school journal; ‘The Story of a Soul’ hip hop style if you will. After listening to the story be sure to check out Paradox’s website by clicking on his logo above. Also, to like him on facebook if you dig his beats, he has some great Catholic lyrics. Perhaps you have a Catholic rap or rhyme to share, the comment section below is waiting patiently for your reflection.
