Bringing Christ Back to Roman Streets
Irish Steve turned Italian for 2 weeks, and today’s story is from his final days in Rome. Quite simply, Steve encounters an apostolate that brings the Gospel of Christ to the streets of Rome through prayer, music, and a presence in the streets of Rome; perhaps an idea for other countries around the world?
Today’s Story
In Rome, this Benedictine Monk and the apostolate he is with, brings the message of the Pope to the people through their public witness. For this reason, the love and hope of the universal Church comes to the people of Rome and beyond through laity and religious of the Church. In fact, many people from Arabic countries are in Italy says Father, and so this public Catholic witness in the streets affords an opportunity to dialogue with people of all faith backgrounds. The fact that Irish Steve happened upon this Benedictine monk in the entire city of Rome most certainly be a small wink from the Holy Spirit. This meeting is one of many that Steve has encountered through his pilgrimage that no human secretary could arrange, only the divine.
Irish Steve is now back in Ireland, cycling around the coast in search of the Catholic faithful in that historically Catholic bastion. May Steve’s sweat and courage bear great fruit for the Kingdom as he continues to bring Christ and His Church to the world. In case you are new to the mission, our team wants to make sure that you are aware of our publishing schedule. Everyday, God willing, we publish a new story to the website from somewhere in the world. We always place the daily Mass readings at the end of each video to aide your connection with the universal Church. God be praised…
