What cross do you carry in your life? Share your thoughts below in the comment section. Perhaps your story could impact someone else’s story? After watching Matt’s story above, it is clear that the cross and Christ’s suffering has the potential to heal our wounds in incredible ways. We all have a story. Wounds accompany those stories. Let us not be afraid to share those wounds with Christ on the cross. As Matt found out, He is waiting for us to simply say, “yes Lord, heal my wounds.”

Jason Evert returns and muses with OBS-Philippines on the nature of suffering in our lives. Are we merely the sum of our brokenness? Or is there value to our life because of these sufferings? Jason points to St. John Paul the Great as an exemplary of how sharing in the Cross in our life will help define the greatness of our life.

Annie and Al Palmquist, Americans living and teaching in Lima, Peru, recently traveled to Argentina to experience more of the rich cultures of South America. While traveling, they set out as media missionaries for this online digital apostolate, to find a story focused on ‘sharing in the cross of Christ.’  Uncertain as to whom God would lead them to for this theme, they trusted and found a story of hope, and a story that personally impacted their outlook on the cross of infertility.

In a memorable encounter in the nation’s Pontifical University, Pope Francis had a heart-felt dialogue with the Filipino youth, a demographic that makes up more than 40% of the country’s population. With the many problems facing the youth in this region – homelessness, school dropouts, sex trafficking and prostitution – this was a critical engagement for Pope Francis, recognizing these young people as the future of the Catholic Church in the Philippines and the entire world. He said, “what is the most important lesson to learn in university and in life? To learn how to love.”
