Mystical Body in Ireland Adopts Priests
Does prayer work? Why do Catholics pray to someone we cannot see? Share your thoughts below after playing today’s story from Ireland. Perhaps you’ve struggled in prayer, perhaps you need an intention for your prayer life in 2012. We offer you this story from Armagh, Ireland, to help remedy that spiritual hurdle which all Catholics face at one step or another in their journey of faith.
Today’s Story
This group of faithful parishioners at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Armagh, Ireland, has taken up the call of Jesus to integrate our prayer life with our daily life. In fact, they take the daily action of prayer one step further through the unity of the global mystical body by praying for Catholic Priests daily by name. These four church goers spiritually adopt priests from around the world in a prayer-centered support group that manifests itself through praying the Rosary and a special prayer daily for Priests everyday. What a great initiative from the Emerald Isle. With such an ardent attack against Catholicism these days, it is the Priests that often take most of the flack. Perhaps it is time that all Catholics learn from these parishioners’ example of combatting these 21st century attacks on our Priests through prayer.
Who do you want our team to pray for? What parish are you ready for us to raise up to God through the Rosary? Share your thoughts and ideas below in the comment section and our team will be sure to pray for your intentions. In addition, this June 2012, is the annual day of prayer for Priests.
