Since launching the business, our parents have played a big role. They would get nervous when I said: ‘Geoffrey’s going to quit graduate school and do woodworking full-time.’ So we had tell our parents, ‘well you raised us this way, to value our family and faith, and to put that first.’ My first shop was in my parent’s basement, where they had to listen to the machines all the time. They would stay up until one in the morning sometimes helping me finish a table.”

It was 1949, in Denver Colorado, during the Polio epidemic when Mary Jane was stricken with bulbar polio, at that time a deadly disease. She was placed in a large machine called an “iron lung” that helped her to breathe and stay alive. Despite the doctors best efforts, the iron lung was shut off on August the 15th, 1949. Mary Jane was pronounced dead.

That same morning, Mary Jane’s parents attended Mass to celebrate the Feast of the Assumption, during which, they placed a dozen white roses at the altar of the Blessed Mother. Upon returning to the hospital and hearing the news of Mary Jane’s death, Mary’s mother Cleva, replied, “No, she isn’t.” Cleva bent down over Mary Jane, kissed her on the forehead, and said, “Mary, open your pretty blue eyes, I haven’t seen them yet this morning.” Mary Jane heard the words of her mother Cleva, and opened her eyes.

During the time of Mary Jane’s death experience, she encountered our Lord and His Blessed Mother. She felt the warmth of their love all around, and humbly offered herself to them and committed to pray the rosary everyday of her life in thanksgiving for the many gifts God had given her. A commitment she has upheld since that very day.

Several years later, Mary Jane would meet the “perfect partner,” and together they have cherished the gift of their Catholic faith by praying the rosary together everyday.

Fr. Domie De Guzman’s journey of faith began when his parents dedicated him to God on the altar table just after being baptized as a baby. As a young man, Domie became a student of AB Journalism, but became sick during his studies, which made him stop and think whether he was following God’s plan for his life. Through his own discernment, he was eventually led to the Society of Saint Paul, whose Founder is Blessed James Alberione. Not yet convinced that he was on the right path, he had a special challenge which he gave to God.

He narrates his journey in parallel with that of Blessed James Alberione, who did not immediately find his vocation to the Media Apostolate early in life. He shares the Blessed’s maxim, “when the Lord calls you to a certain mission, he would empower you.” Blessed Ablerione said through his work in media, that “The World is the Parish” when it came to the Ministry of a media Apostolate and Evangelization. Fr. Domie further explains that media is no longer technology, but a culture, where the bonding of Faith happens with communications, which forms individuals into communities of Faith.

Archbishop of Manila and Caritas Internationalis President: H.E. Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle, gives his thoughts on how to cultivate a culture of encounter and hope, especially for persons with disabilities which leads to the Eucharist as its source. Oftentimes the poor, people with disabilities, and those who are labeled as the least and the last are neglected. In this interview, Cardinal Tagle mentions that God gives a “special gift” to this sector of humanity. Let us then begin to reflect on his message focusing on the virtue of Hope which is also the battle cry of our mission in evangelizing and spreading the light of Christ to the Digital continent where we say: “Hope Lives!“

Skip Rodgers is a man on a mission: to raise awareness about the Christian genocide happening right now in the Middle East. As we have all seen in the news over the past 24 months, the situation in the Middle East has deteriorated quickly. The march against Christianity and it’s ancient roots in the greater area has spread rapidly. The cries of our brothers and sisters are not being answered by the larger global community. But rather than sit on the sidelines and complain about it, Skip Rodgers has taken the situation into his own hands. He is pedaling across the United States of America to raise awareness about the genocide happening before our very eyes. He is taking a stand, and he invites all of you watching this video to take a stand with him.

The “Ride for Hope and Mercy” should spread far and wide within the greater Christian communities across the United States. Please spread this video to your family and friends. The cries of our brothers and sisters in the Middle East must be heard. Let us unite with them through Skip Rodger’s inspiring, challenging, and sacrificial bike ride across the country.

Support Skip’s ride at the link above. Donations are being accepted to directly support Christians in Lebanon whom are fleeing Syria and Iraq.

Chastity Speaker Matthew Fradd talks about Porn for a living and he’s not ashamed of it, learn more about his work at www.MattFradd.com & www.ThePornEffect.com

He recalls his exposure to porn since he was 8 years old especially when the age of the internet came in, it was a downhill road which made him realize how it was perverting the way he looked at women.

Then one day, Truth hit him in the face when he was challenged by a Dominican Friar in the sacrament of Reconciliation when the Friar said: “This is a terrible preparation for marriage and you must stop”, in that instant Matt had found that he was treated like a true man in seriousness and respect.

Through God’s Grace, the Sacraments, prayer, accountability, and patient perseverance, he began trying to be free of this sin and other sins. When asked if he still gets tempted to this day, he reflects on not letting the things we struggle with define us and ultimately stating that “Struggling with pornography can ultimately be a very efficient means of becoming a Saint”, he highlights that “struggling doesn’t mean to give into, but to violently resist.”

He said that what is needed is Moral courage, self mastery, patience in order to attain the virtue of chastity, and showing our Love to God by rejecting the sin of pornography every moment of our lives. In this age, where this sin is rampant, especially on the internet, we continue the fight to evangelize the “digital continent” by igniting beacons of light to scatter the shadows that plague this time of history. We continue to fight on for our generation and the generations to come with faith, hope, and love. Hope Lives.

Learn more about Sarah Swafford: www.EmotionalVirtue.com And follow on Facebook: Sarah Swafford

Early in life, Sarah Swafford learned that life was not easy, even from her early middle school experience. She even had to change schools in middle school because of the bullying that she faced at that stage of her life. Her Mom had the wise counsel to help her through these challenging times by sharing these words, “hurt people, hurt people.” People that are struggling often bring those struggles to other people. In this video, Sarah shares the reality of encountering a struggling culture, and how the words of Saint John Paul the Great, inspired her to give everything to God through: “Be not afraid.”

We invite you to share your thoughts on the video below in the comment section. How have you been challenged in your life? How do you think “emotional virtue” applies to your real world experience?
