Early in life, Sarah Swafford learned that life was not easy, even from her early middle school experience. She even had to change schools in middle school because of the bullying that she faced at that stage of her life. Her Mom had the wise counsel to help her through these challenging times by sharing these words, “hurt people, hurt people.” People that are struggling often bring those struggles to other people. In this video, Sarah shares the reality of encountering a struggling culture, and how the words of Saint John Paul the Great, inspired her to give everything to God through: “Be not afraid.”

We invite you to share your thoughts on the video below in the comment section. How have you been challenged in your life? How do you think “emotional virtue” applies to your real world experience?
